An initiative of

Fighting Poverty
and Long-Term Homelessness

1.7 million people in the Bay Area don’t have the resources to meet their basic needs. Tipping Point identifies and invests in the most promising interventions by funding a portfolio of poverty-fighting organizations and implementing a series of focused initiatives. Working with government and non-profit service providers, we launched the Chronic Homelessness Initiative, which will cut chronic homelessness in half by 2022.

What Is
Chronic Homelessness?

Chronic homelessness refers to an individual who has been without a home for more than a year and has a mental or physical disability. On any given night in San Francisco, over 3,000 people fit this definition.

Our Approach

We Will Reduce Chronic
Homelessness by 50% from 2017-2022.

Explore our systems-change strategy, driven by collaborative efforts between local government, non-profit service providers, individuals with lived experience, and philanthropy to create lasting systems change.
